Ramp it Up!

We're thrilled to announce our second guided hiking tour of the new year, taking place in the breathtaking Beacon State Park. This park is known for its stunning views of the Hudson River, rolling hills, and diverse landscapes, making it the perfect place to immerse yourself in nature and get some fresh air.

On this hike, we're focusing on finding ramps and spring mushrooms. Beacon State Park is home to a wide variety of wild edibles, including ramps and many species of fungi. Our knowledgeable guide will lead the way, pointing out different types of ramps and mushrooms and sharing interesting facts about their ecology and importance in the ecosystem.

In addition to foraging, you'll also have the opportunity to explore the park's diverse landscapes and learn about the history and natural features of the area. With a guide, you'll be able to ask questions, deepen your appreciation for the park, and make new friends who share your love of the outdoors.

To get the most out of the tour, make sure to come prepared. Wear comfortable shoes, bring plenty of water, snacks, and layers of clothing to accommodate the weather. Sunscreen and a hat are also recommended, especially if it's a sunny day. Don't forget your camera, as there will be plenty of opportunities to take in the stunning views of the park and the Hudson River and capture some great photos.
